INDUSTRIAL LIASON OFFICER (ilo).

The Industrial Liaison Department at Emining Technical Training Institute (ETTI) is a crucial link between our students and the professional world. Headed by the Industrial Liaison Officer (ILO), Mr. Robinson Kiprotich, and supported by Departmental Attachment Officers (DAOs), our office ensures trainees gain invaluable practical experience.

Industrial attachment is a cornerstone of our technical training programs. It’s a mandatory requirement designed to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world application. While placement for self-sponsored trainees is competitive, our department works tirelessly to secure opportunities for all students. This hands-on experience allows trainees to apply their skills, understand professional work ethics, and prepare for successful careers in their respective trades.

Key Activities ofย  the ILO Officer

The Industrial Liaison Office at ETTI manages several core activities to facilitate a smooth and beneficial attachment experience:

  • Trainee Insurance: Verifying and confirming that all trainees are properly insured before they begin their attachment.

  • Placement Solicitations: Actively seeking and securing new industrial attachment opportunities for our students with leading companies and firms.

  • Material Provision: Ensuring all trainees have the necessary materials, such as logbooks and introductory letters, for their attachment.

  • Performance Assessment: Scheduling and coordinating on-site assessments of trainees in liaison with Departmental Attachment Officers to evaluate progress and provide feedback.

Objectives of Industrial Attachment

Upon completion of their attachment, trainees from Emining Technical Training Institute are expected to:

  • Demonstrate practical competence and problem-solving skills in professional settings.

  • Exhibit appropriate workplace attitudes and social skills.

  • Practice and adhere to professional work ethics and culture.
