Courses offered in the department comprises of the following:

– Diploma in Information communication and Technology
– Certificate in Information communication and Technology
– Diploma in Computer Studies

1) Diploma in Information communication and Technology

This course is divided into three modules. Each module is terminal in nature. The course is aimed at proving the trainees with knowledge, skills and attitudes which enable them to perform; system analysis, system design, software development tasks and administrative duties.

i. Module 1 is designed to enable the trainee to become a computer operator with skills and knowledge in operating systems, computer Application packages and information systems.
ii. Module 2 is designed to enable the trainee to become a computer programmer and system analyst with skills and knowledge in Entrepreneurship education and relevant Mathematics
iii. Module 3 is designed to enable the trainee to become a system Administrator with skills and knowledge to administer various computer networks and management of Human Resources.

General objectives of Diploma in Information communication and Technology
At the end of the course, the trainee should be able to:-

a) Operate and use computer and peripheral devices
b) Acquire knowledge and skills of software design and development.
c) Use computer software to solve management problems
d) Appreciate the role of information technology socio-economic development.
e) Apply management skills in day to day activities in organizations.
f) Acquire knowledge and skills in system analysis and design
g) Apply entrepreneurship skills in information development.

2. Diploma in Computer Studies

This course is aimed at providing the trainee with knowledge and skills required to prepare them for performing tasks at technician levels in a computer environment or are self-employed. It also impart trainees with general knowledge and entrepreneurial awareness to enable the trainees to contribute positively to society

General objectives of Diploma in Computer Studies
At the end of the course, the trainee should be able to:-

a) Safely handle computers ant their peripheral devices
b) Acquire knowledge in installation and maintenance of computer hardware and software
c) Acquire sufficient knowledge to write and run programs
d) Understand computer networking and the communication protocols
e) Use application packages to solve management problems
f) Display skills, knowledge and attitudes that would enable him/her to be self-employed, salaried or proceed with further training.

3. Certificate in Information communication and Technology
